 Fingerplays:

Hot Chocolate (tune of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star)

(make motions to match words)

Pour some milk into a pot,

Stir it ‘til it’s nice and hot.

Take the chocolate – give a squeeze,

Add marshmallows if you please.

Wrap yourself up nice and snug,

Drink hot chocolate in a mug.

Snowman

I’m a little snowman, short and fat. (circle arms out around body)

Here are my buttons, (point to “buttons” down front)

Here is my hat. (point to top of head)

When the sun comes out, I will be gone, (circle arms around head)

Just a puddle on the lawn! (pretend to melt)

Chubby Little Snowman

A chubby little snowman, ( make fat tummy with arms)

Had a carrot nose. (put fist in front of nose)

Along came a bunny, (hold up two fingers & hop hand)

And what do you suppose?

That hungry little bunny, (rub tummy)

Looking for some lunch, (shade eyes with hand & look around)

Ate the snowman’s carrot nose, (fist in front of nose)

Nibble, nibble, crunch! (open and close fist three times)

Five Little Snowmen

Five little snowmen sitting on the ground, (pat hands on floor)

The first one said, “Oh my, aren’t we round,” (make circle with arms forward)

The second one said, “There are snowflakes in the air,” (wiggle fingers over head)

The third one said, “But we don’t care,” (shrug shoulders)

The fourth one said, “Let’s roll, and roll, and roll,” (roll hands)

The fifth one said, “It’s really nice and cold!” (wrap arms around self and nod head)

Then whooooo (blow) went the wind,

And out came the sun, (circle arms around head)

And the five little snowmen knew their fun was done! (pretend to melt)
