Fingerplays:

Animals (can be sung to the tune of “Turkey in the Straw”)

(make movements match animals)

Can you hop like a rabbit?

Can you jump like a frog?

Can you walk like a duck?

Wag your tail like a dog?

Can you fly like a bird?

Can you swim like a fish?

Can you turn in a circle

And sit down like this?

Tall as a Tree

Tall as a tree, (stand with arms straight up)

Big as a house, (stretch arms straight out at sides)

Thin as a pin, (put arms down tight against sides)

Small as a mouse! (crouch down to the floor)

Music:

“The Goldfish” by Laurie Berkner (Victor Vito CD)

“Jumping and Counting” by Jim Gill (Jim Gill’s Irrational Anthem CD)

Craft:

Pop-out Card: Fold a piece of construction paper in half. Cut two 1” slits about 1” apart along fold near center. Fold this center tab down and press crease. Open paper and push center tab into card in the opposite direction of long fold. This creates a pop-out that any cut out paper shape can be glued to. Add details with markers or crayons. Voila! A card with a surprise inside!
