Fingerplays:

Birthday Cake

Big chocolate cake, (make circle with arms)

Ice cream in a dish, (cup hands together)

Here are the candles, (hold up fingers)

Now make a wish! (pretend to blow out candles)

A Song for Seuss (to the tune of “Bingo”)

There was a man who wrote some books,

And Seuss was his name-o.

S-E-U-S-S, S-E-U-S-S, S-E-U-S-S,

And Seuss was his name-o!

Big Balloon

Here I have a big balloon, (cup hands together in front of mouth)

Watch me while I blow. (blow into hands, spread hands apart slightly)

Small at first, then bigger, (blow and spread hands further apart…)

Watch it grow and grow. (blow and spread hands further…)

Do you think it’s big enough (blow and spread hands further…)

Maybe I should stop, (blow and spread hands further…)

For if I blow much longer,

My balloon will surely POP! (clap hands together loudly)
