Welcome to the Avon Lake Public Library’s Childrens Department Blog. We have made a commitment to providing the tools and materials to help children be readers. In this blog you will find our storytime themes that we are presenting throughout the year. Each theme may include book suggestions, fingerplays, songs, games, crafts and literacy extension activities focused around six early literacy skills. These early literacy skills are: Print Motivation, Print Awareness, Vocabulary, Letter Knowledge, Phonological Awareness and Narrative Skills.
