We’re celebrating Thanksgiving just like Good Ol’ Charlie Brown and all his Peanuts Gang friends. We’ll have games, a craft and Thanksgiving snacks while we show the classic TV special on a big screen.
This week in storytime we featured one of our favorite authors, Mo Willems. Children loved the mischievous Pigeon and roared with laughter as we acted out the book There’s A Bird on Your Head with Elephant and Piggie. We used Mo Willems wonderful websites to help inspire us. We found our craft on the website Pigeon Presents. You can click here for a direct link to Mo’s Pigeon door hanger.
There are so many wonderful authors that have amazing websites. Here are a few to get you started:

If you’re not feeling well or can’t make it to storytime, try this at home. It’s your very own do-it-yourself storytime! Keep your child engaged in reading by using books, music and materials you already have. It’s fun and educational.

Many people have asked us about our walk-in song for this season’s storytimes. On Mondays and Tuesdays, we have been playing “Gospel ABC” by Choo – Choo Soul. Check out the video of the song below and visit their website for more information.
Have you ever felt frustrated when a child sits on your lap to hear you read “Goodnight Moon” for the 100th time? On Monday September 14, 2009, John Campanelli wrote a wonderful article regarding repetition and reading (and the frustrations and joys that go along with it).
